Reunited at last with my kit, the weather forecast for Monday was for NE'lies, so off I trooped to the North Kent Coast. The biggest challenge was finding a parking space in Whitstable on a bank holiday, but luckily one came up at the right spot. It was about 4 hours before low tide, and unbeknown to me it was perfect timing. Two hours of good, constant wind, slighty 'on the edge' but planing about 4/5 runs. Lots of hip-lifting and tiptoes though. And no gybes of course, but I was just pleased to be on the water.

There were about 20 people out in all, the sea was warm, swell not too bad, but the shingle beach was hard on the kit & on my tootsies.

Having sailed at so many gusty places, it was so nice to sail in such clean wind. My mate Steve came too, and played with my new $50 digital camera - pix on the forum.

Once I'd come off the water, the tide went right out and the people still out had quite a long walk back.

A really nice, unexpected, Home Turf session. :-)
